no explanation of field values in the app. I don't want any verification process that fails if I lose my phone.

All I want to do is link my Nintendo account but it seems to be an impossible task. I just keep getting "Please launch Google Authenticator and enter the displayed code." I'm not getting any codes and when I try to log in to the Google Authenticator app under a different account, I keep getting "this account is already signed into this device." This is the worst 2-step verification I've ever experienced.
