since my former favorite texting app (the Verizon messenger app) was decommissioned, I searched for a while until I stumbled across Chomp, just like Verizon messenger you can customize just about everything. I would buy it but it's a little pricey and it's based on a monthly subscription. if you could flat out purchase it I would most likely buy it depending on the price.

I am very happy with this app.. it does most of what I need and the free version really isn't that bad with ads so thanks to the Chomp team

I'm a paid subscriber. Downgraded 5 star review to a 2 star. some of the same problems that they had years ago have resurfaced again in the last few updates. I am getting more stagefright errors, when the people resend their texts most times it comes through with no error. When you attach a contact now it only shows the contact name and instead of the phone number this problem was noted back in 2016. trying to log into their site for support has been of fiasco. I've not been able to log in.
