Just to clarify, I first tried this on a Chromebook. Then on a smartphone, which worked fine. An extra star for that and also my bookmarks transferred easily. It seems that Chromebook gets shafted quite a bit when it comes to certain apps, like DOS and C64 emulation. If Brave and Firefox can do it, I'll keep watching for Startpage.

I'm a fan of startpage "search engine" but i always use different browser like brave, firefox or waterfox (startpage as my default engine)here on my Android. First time using your own browser app, it's good for casual searching, like no any google integration of apps,no ai etc. But it's not that secured by default. Has DNT but not GPC and disable webrtc. But love the unbiased, clean results especially avoiding adult contents. Lot of things to improve/add but enough for searching purposes.

ditched Google due to their intrusive and unethical AI. Startpage has been a great replacement. even down to the color pallette, I just find it easier on the eyes. Here's hoping they make a whole desktop web browser someday.
