Conceived in conjunction with Yale University’s Center for Emotional Intelligence and based on the work of Dr Marc Brackett, How We Feel helps people find the right word to describe how they feel while tracking their sleep, exercise, and health trends in order to spot patterns over time.
Founded as a science-based nonprofit, How We Feel is made possible by donations from people who are passionate about bringing mental wellbeing to the widest possible audience. Our data privacy policy puts you in control of how your data is stored and shared. Data is stored on your device unless you choose to send your data to an alternative storage solution. Data is only accessible by you unless you choose to share it with others. Data is not used for research unless you opt-in to contribute an anonymized version of your data for research studies designed to help more people.

I've been using the app for 463 days now and checked in on every single one. After messaging the support multiple times, I've got the impression that they're not in it for actual long term users, for example making questionable design changes that impact accessibility negatively. Also, why do I HAVE to use Google Play Services? I'd love for this to go open source instead.

I literally can't believe this is completely free! It has helped me recognise my emotions and express them better! I always struggled with consistent Journaling but it's great for someone trying to begin with that! And my favourite feature I can make an entry for yesterday by changing date because sometimes you get busy - this way my streak won't break :D I'm very happy with the app, all of it's features and tools, very helpful & engaging, & love the visuals too of both app & widget!!!

This app really helped me. I was feeling really down and I thought I might be sinking into depression. I started logging and noticed I was getting down 20% of my posts and I had a lot of posts feeling loved, grateful and appreciative. It really helped me shift my perspective. I started out logging twice a day or more and I need it a lot less now. I think it helped me recognize and identify my feelings in the moment and that has helped me understand myself more and regulate what I'm feeling.
